Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the Highlands?
This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function, working closely with senior leadership to drive profitability, manage commercial risk and support the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects. The successful Commercial Manager will play a key role in the continued growth of the business, while developing commercial best practice across multiple contracts. This Commercial Manager position offers genuine long-term career progression within a respected contractor.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial management of civil engineering projects.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cost planning and commercial reporting.
Manage valuations, applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
Administer contracts and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
Support tendering activities during pre-construction.
Monitor project costs and ensure commercial performance targets are achieved.
Work closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers and site teams.
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and account settlements.
Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders.
Produce accurate commercial reports for senior management.
Improve commercial procedures and cost management processes.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar.
Strong civil engineering or infrastructure background.
Excellent understanding of contract administration.
Experience managing project costs, variations and final accounts.
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication and leadership ability.
Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
