Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: Thetford
Salary: Circa £55,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, shift-based role
Are you an electrically biased maintenance engineer looking for a secure, well-paid role within a busy manufacturing environment?
We are recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering team at a successful manufacturing site on the outskirts of Thetford.
This is a hands-on role where you will use your electrical fault-finding skills while also supporting mechanical maintenance across a range of production and automated machinery.
You will be joining a fast-paced site where no two shifts are the same, with the opportunity to work on varied equipment, develop your technical knowledge and play an important role in improving machinery reliability.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns
* Fault finding on production machinery and automated equipment
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing
* Working on motors, sensors, drives, control panels, conveyors and PLC-controlled equipment
* Completing basic mechanical repairs involving bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps and pneumatics
* Working closely with production teams and other engineers to minimise downtime
* Identifying recurring faults and helping to improve machinery reliability
* Supporting machinery upgrades, installations and continuous improvement projects
* Recording completed maintenance work accurately
* Following all health, safety, quality and electrical compliance procedures
What We’re Looking For
We would be interested in hearing from engineers who have:
* Strong electrical fault-finding experience
* Experience maintaining production or industrial machinery
* Some practical mechanical maintenance experience
* Experience carrying out PPM and breakdown maintenance
* A recognised electrical, mechanical or engineering qualification
* The ability to remain calm and work effectively during breakdowns
* A flexible and proactive approach to shift work
You do not need experience with every type of machinery listed. Applicants with a strong electrical background and a willingness to develop their mechanical skills are encouraged to apply.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
* PLC fault finding or diagnostics
* FMCG or food manufacturing
* Packaging, plastics or process manufacturing
* Automated production machinery
* Conveyors, pneumatics or hydraulics
* High-volume manufacturing environments
* Continuous improvement or machinery upgrade projects
