We are delighted to be supporting a respected NHS organisation in the recruitment of a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant (HCA). This is an exciting opportunity to add real value to patients within an acute hospital setting, working Adhoc shifts opportunities across a 7 day week. Providing high-quality patient care within a supportive clinical environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a patient-focused team where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey. Based within a busy clinical environment, you will work alongside experienced healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine patient observations, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose monitoring following appropriate training.
* Support patients with personal care needs, including washing, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, and mobility assistance.
* Assist patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, recording intake where required.
* Support nurses and clinicians with basic clinical procedures and patient care activities.
* Assist with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and the use of mobility aids.
* Ensure clinical areas, equipment, beds, and treatment trolleys are prepared and maintained to a high standard.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective patient care.
* Provide reassurance, comfort, and emotional support to patients and their families.
* Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in line with organisational policies.
* Adhere to infection prevention, safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety procedures at all times
Essential Requirements
* NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
* Previous experience in a healthcare, care home, community care or domiciliary care setting.
* A caring, compassionate and patient-centred approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.
Desirable Requirements
* Previous experience working within an NHS or hospital environment.
* Experience taking and recording patient observations.
* Understanding of person-centred care principles and patient wellbeing.
* Experience supporting patients with mobility and moving & handling techniques.
* Knowledge of electronic patient record systems.
* A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
