We are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a growing biotech organisation based in south Cambridge as they seek to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a part time, permanent basis. This role is a newly created position due to growth, and within the role, you will report into the Finance Director. The role is a part time position for around 3 days per week, but the hours will ideally be spread across the full week.
Within this role as Assistant Accountant, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Preparing VAT returns
- All aspects of Purchase Ledger
- Bank Reconciliations
- Month end processes up to Trial Balance
- Assisting with production of the Management Accounts, with a view to lead on this in the future
- Additional duties as required
As the successful applicant for this role, you will have previous experience within a similar role, with good knowledge of both transactional and month end processes. You will also have good experience using cloud accounting packages, ideally Xero, but experience with Sage or Quickbooks would also be beneficial. Other desirable attributes you will possess include:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Team player with a helpful and flexible approach to your work
