Mechanical Construction Manager
Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in Cork, this is an exciting opportunity to join Dornan, supporting the delivery of our cutting edge pharmaceutical builds in the region.. This is an exciting opportunity in the mechanical space, where you will assume responsibility in fast paced environments, Ideally you will have previous pharmaceutical / industrial or oil and gas experience.
Your day will include:
Leading and coordinating all mechanical construction activities across a large-scale pharmaceutical project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Managing mechanical subcontractors and direct labour teams, driving productivity, monitoring progress against programme milestones, and proactively resolving site issues to maintain project delivery targets.
Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Design Teams, QA/QC, Commissioning and Client stakeholders to ensure mechanical systems are installed in accordance with design specifications, GMP requirements and client expectations.
Chairing daily and weekly coordination meetings, producing progress reports, and ensuring robust planning of labour, materials, plant and equipment to support construction activities.
Promoting Dornan's commitment to Health, Safety and Quality by championing best practices, conducting regular site inspections, and ensuring full compliance with project procedures, industry regulations and pharmaceutical standards.
About You
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline, with significant construction management experience on large-scale pharmaceutical, life sciences or mission-critical projects.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex mechanical installations from construction through to commissioning and handover within highly regulated environments.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate multidisciplinary teams, manage subcontractor performance and build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Excellent understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, process piping, clean utilities and associated building services commonly found within pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
Commercially aware, highly organised and solutions-focused, with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
