We're partnering with an innovative engineering company developing advanced automated manufacturing technology. They're looking for a Hardware Engineering Lead to drive the mechanical development of a complex production system as it moves from prototype to scalable manufacture.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems while mentoring a small, talented team.
The Role
You'll lead the mechanical design and continuous improvement of sophisticated automated machinery, working closely with Electrical, Controls, Software and Manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, production-ready equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the design and development of complex automated machinery.
* Designing mechanisms, tooling, fixtures and mechanical assemblies.
* Improving reliability, manufacturability and performance.
* Managing suppliers and supporting product build, testing and deployment.
* Mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practice.
About You
You'll have experience designing complex automated equipment and taking products through development into production.
You'll ideally have a background in areas such as:
* Industrial Automation
* Robotics
* Special Purpose Machinery
* Advanced Manufacturing
* Capital Equipment
You'll also bring:
* Strong mechanical design skills and CAD experience.
* Experience with automation, robotics or motion systems.
* Knowledge of Design for Manufacture and product development.
* Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience.
* A proactive, hands-on approach within fast-paced engineering environments.
