Team Leader - Complex Care & Rehabilitation Support

Location: Cambridgeshire - based in the client's own home
Pay: £20.86 per hour
Hours: 39 hours per week
Shift pattern: One 12-hour care shift, one night shift and 15 hours of dedicated admin time per week
Essential: Full, clean UK driving licence

Are you an experienced Complex Care Team Leader or Senior Support Worker looking for a role where you can combine hands-on care with genuine leadership responsibility?

Mash Care is recruiting on behalf of a private client for an experienced and confident Team Leader to lead an established support team working with an individual in their own home in Cambridgeshire.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining hands-on complex care, team leadership and dedicated management time. You won't be expected to squeeze the leadership responsibilities in around care shifts — the role includes 15 hours of dedicated admin time each week to manage the team, rotas, care plans, risk assessments and the wider running of the package.

The role

The position is paid at £20.86 per hour and consists of:

One 12-hour care shift per week
One night shift per week
15 hours of dedicated admin and management time per week You'll work closely with the client, their family, support team, care manager, Deputyship team, therapists and other professionals to ensure the client receives consistent, high-quality support and is able to live as independently and fully as possible.

This is not a traditional care setting. The support is entirely centred around one individual, their rehabilitation, independence, goals and quality of life.

What you'll be responsible for

We're looking for someone with strong practical experience in complex care and team management. You'll need to be confident taking ownership of the package and ensuring the support team operates consistently and effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing the support team
Creating, reviewing and updating care and rehabilitation support plans
Completing and reviewing risk assessments
Managing staff rotas and ensuring appropriate shift coverage
Providing regular supervision and appraisals
Arranging and leading team meetings
Mentoring, motivating and supporting team members
Ensuring staff follow agreed care plans, risk assessments and rehabilitation strategies
Maintaining accurate records and reports
Working closely with the client's family and wider professional team
Supporting the efficient day-to-day running of the client's home
Monitoring the quality and consistency of support provided
Ordering equipment and supplies when required Hands-on support

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll remain actively involved in supporting the client.
You will:

Build a positive and professional relationship with the client
Promote independence and autonomy wherever possible
Support daily routines and activities of daily living
Help plan daily, weekly and monthly activities
Encourage and facilitate access to the community
Support participation in leisure and sporting activities
Accompany the client to appointments and activities
Provide companionship, encouragement and reassurance
Support with personal care, medication and healthcare needs
Assist with food preparation and nutrition
Help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment Rehabilitation support

You'll be an active part of the client's rehabilitation programme, working closely with therapists and other professionals to ensure agreed strategies are consistently followed.
This may include supporting:

Physical rehabilitation
Cognitive strategies
Behavioural strategies
Development and maintenance of daily living skills
Confidence and independence
Motivation and engagement The right person will understand the importance of consistency in complex care and rehabilitation. You'll be able to encourage and motivate without taking over, helping the client to achieve as much independence as realistically possible.

Who we're looking for

This is not a first-step Team Leader position. We're looking for someone who already has strong experience within complex care and can confidently take ownership of the leadership and administrative responsibilities of the package.
You will need experience in:

Complex care
Creating and reviewing care plans
Completing and updating risk assessments
Staff rostering and rota management
Team leadership and management You'll also ideally have:

Experience working in rehabilitation or with an individual with complex needs
Experience supervising and appraising staff
Confidence working with families and multidisciplinary professionals
Excellent written communication and record-keeping skills
Experience supporting with personal care and medication
The ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions
A professional approach to confidentiality
A flexible, reliable and calm manner A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive the client's Motability vehicle.
