A highly popular specialist school in Stockport, are seeking enthusiastic Behaviour Mentor to join their welcoming team from September. This well-established school supports students across Key Stages 3-5 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a range of additional learning needs, including pupils who may display challenging behaviour.

The school is committed to providing a structured, nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and the skills they need to succeed.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide tailored support on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the classroom, helping students overcome barriers to learning while promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting students with autism and additional learning needs.
Building strong, positive relationships that encourage trust, engagement and progress.
Supporting students who may present with challenging behaviour using consistent behaviour management strategies.
Promoting emotional regulation, independence and confidence.
Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and personalised learning.
Working cooperatively with teachers, therapists, pastoral teams and other support staff.
Using initiative to provide consistent support throughout the school day.We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

Be passionate about supporting young people with additional learning requirements.
Have experience working with students with autism, SEN, SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs (desirable).
Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and remain calm under pressure.
Be an excellent communicator who can build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
