Electrical Estimator – Canterbury

Salary: £55,000 per annum
Location: Canterbury
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team based at our offices in Canterbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and detail-focused estimator to join an established business and play a key role in preparing competitive tenders and supporting the successful delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the electrical estimating process from initial tender review through to bid submission and project handover. You will work closely with clients, suppliers, specialist subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and commercially competitive tender submissions.

Working hours:

* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 17:30

* Friday: 07:30 – 16:30

Key Responsibilities:

* Review electrical tender documentation and identify any requirements for clarification or additional information

* Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) where required

* Prepare enquiries for electrical equipment, materials, and specialist subcontract packages

* Select suitable supply chain partners and issue enquiries via the document controller

* Produce accurate electrical estimates using computer-aided estimating systems, including Ensign

* Quantify materials, plant, labour, and associated costs accurately

* Attend and contribute to pre-tender, mid-tender, and post-tender meetings

* Review supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance, accuracy, and best value

* Liaise with electrical subcontractors and internal teams to ensure fully inclusive and competitive tender submissions

* Prepare tender review packs for presentation to senior management during bid finalisation meetings

* Follow up submitted tenders and support the successful securing of projects

* Work with colleagues and management to continuously improve estimating processes

* Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and supply chain partners

* Attend project handover meetings with the contracts team once projects are secured

About You:

* Experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong understanding of electrical systems and installations

* Proven experience preparing tenders within a commercial building services environment

* Strong knowledge of electrical estimating, procurement, and subcontractor pricing

* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and competitive bids

* Confident communicating with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

* Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

* Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively
