Press Toolmaker

Red Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Tool Maker to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Redditch.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Tool Maker to join a busy tool room, working on the manufacture, maintenance and repair of precision press tools used in high-volume production.

Key Responsibilities:

* Building, maintaining and repairing press tools

* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and refurbishment of tooling

* Diagnosing and repairing tooling faults to minimise production downtime

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

* Operating conventional tool room machinery, including milling, turning and grinding equipment

* Supporting production with tool changeovers and breakdowns

* Ensuring all tooling is maintained to the highest quality standards

* Following Health & Safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

* Time-served Tool Maker or recognised engineering apprenticeship

* Previous experience building and maintaining press tools

* Competent using manual milling, turning and grinding machines

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

* Experience with Wire EDM (wire erosion)

* CNC machining experience

* Background in precision engineering, metal pressings or toolmaking

Benefits:

* £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
