Day Shift

Permanent | Full Time (38 Hours per Week)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nuclear Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation operating within the nuclear sector. This position would suit an experienced inspector or quality professional with a strong mechanical engineering background and a passion for maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections, testing and quality checks on incoming materials, manufactured components and finished products to ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and nuclear industry regulations. The role offers the opportunity to work within a highly regulated environment where attention to detail and quality are of critical importance.

Working Hours

Permanent, Full Time (38 hours per week)
Monday - Thursday: 07:30am - 4:15pm
Friday: 07:30am - 12:30pm
Monthly paid
Nuclear Inspector Level 2 - £18.46 per hour
Nuclear Inspector Level 3 - £20.08 per hour
Flexibility to work alternative shifts when required.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out inspections of purchased parts, sub-assemblies and finished products using mechanical, physical and electrical measurement techniques.
Ensure all quality and safety requirements are met.
Record and document inspection and testing results accurately
Support project-related inspection activities and coordinate inspection tasks.
Maintain quality records, controlled documents and inspection reports.
Coordinate calibration activities for inspection and test equipment.
Assist in the creation, review and continuous improvement of inspection procedures and protocols.
Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Key Skills

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability to read engineering quality plans.
Experience using inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers and other precision measuring instruments.
Experience inspecting precision machined components and fabrications.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

Time Served Mechanical Engineer.
Minimum two years' experience within inspection or quality control.
Experience operating measurement and inspection equipment.
Strong technical understanding of manufacturing methods and quality processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of ISO9001.
Previous nuclear industry inspection experience would be advantageous.
Knowledge of ASME PED would be beneficial but is not essential.
