Children’s Residential Team Leader (Level 3 Qualified) – Driver Essential
Contract: Permanent
Location: Colne
Job Summary
We are seeking a caring, resilient, and experienced Children’s Residential Team Leader to join our team in Colne. This is a rewarding opportunity to lead and support staff and young people within a residential care setting supporting children and young people.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in supporting young people’s daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development while ensuring high standards of care and support within the home.
Duties
* Lead and support staff in delivering high-quality care for children and young people with EBD.
* Support daily routines, personal development, and educational engagement.
* Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and safeguarding best practice.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with young people and act as a positive role model.
* Support staff with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
* Oversee shift planning and ensure consistency across the team.
* Ensure a safe, structured, and nurturing environment at all times.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals, and external agencies.
* Participate in shift work including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Shift Pattern
2 days on, 4 days off
Qualifications & Requirements
Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare
Previous experience working with children or young people in residential care, youth work, or education.
Experience supporting young people with EBD is highly desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
Ability to lead by example and support a team effectively.
