Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to join their team on a large-scale residential development. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) services throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires a proactive leader with excellent technical knowledge, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to effectively manage subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the delivery of all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) packages from design through to commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate MEP subcontractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
• Review MEP designs, technical submittals, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Lead MEP coordination and progress meetings, recording actions and ensuring follow-up.
• Plan upcoming works, produce look-ahead schedules, and ensure labour, materials, and plant are available.
• Monitor quality standards through first fix, second fix, and final inspections, ensuring all QA documentation is completed.
• Manage RFIs, design changes, technical queries, and value engineering opportunities.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover of all MEP systems.
• Coordinate permanent utility installations and liaise with statutory service providers where required.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, health & safety legislation, and project specifications.
• Work closely with the commercial and design teams to manage subcontractor performance, variations, and project risks.
• Maintain accurate project records, site diaries, commissioning documentation, and progress reports.

Requirements
• Proven experience as an MEP Manager, Building Services Manager, or Senior MEP Engineer on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments.
• Experience managing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing packages on projects valued in excess of £10 million or developments comprising 200+ residential units.
• Strong understanding of MEP design, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
• Experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent knowledge of current Building Services regulations and industry best practices.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to monitor subcontractor performance and programme delivery.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software such as Procore is advantageous.
• SMSTS Certification and a valid CSCS Card are essential.
