Senior Architectural Technician or Technical Architect, Birmingham £45k - £55k DOE
If you would like to know more about this opportunity, please contact Sophie Randle @ RGB Recruitment ASAP!
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist or Technical Architect to join a well established architectural practice working on long term public sector and MOJ projects.
This is not your typical architectural role. Instead of producing detailed design packages from start to finish, you'll act as a trusted technical advisor on behalf of the client, reviewing contractor proposals, preparing tender documentation and ensuring projects meet the required Building Regulations, British Standards and technical performance criteria.
Working closely with the Ministry of Justice, you'll play a key role in the delivery of prison and court developments, with a secured pipeline of work for the next five years.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture, is confident dealing directly with clients and contractors, and wants to take ownership of projects within a unique and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
Preparing technical briefs, tender documentation and performance specifications
Reviewing contractor proposals and technical design information
Producing concept and tender stage drawing packages where required
Undertaking site visits and inspections across the South East
Acting as the technical representative for the client throughout project delivery
Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards and technical requirements
Managing relationships with contractors, consultants and key stakeholders
Leading technical discussions and resolving design and construction queries
Requirements
Qualified Architectural Technologist, Architectural Technician or Technical Architect
Strong technical knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction
Experience preparing technical drawing packages and specifications
Confident client-facing with excellent communication skills
Comfortable challenging technical proposals and making informed decisions
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the South East
Revit and/or AutoCAD experience
This is an opportunity to join a respected architectural practice with a long standing reputation and a secure pipeline of public sector work. You'll take ownership of an important client facing role with genuine autonomy, working on nationally significant projects rather than traditional architectural production. The company offers a salary of £45,000 - £55,000 DOE, with the potential for a car allowance for the right individual, alongside long term job security and the chance to become a key member of a growing technical team
