A fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Policy Lead to join a Public Body based in Milton Keynes on a Hybrid basis who support government departments with mission critical secure services such as Security, IT Support, Global Logistics and secure property design.
The role of the Procurement Policy Lead is to ensure that all procurement policies and processes align with relevant legal and regulatory requirement. Working across the procurement team and the wider organisation to share knowledge and provide support. Leading on delivering activities such as audit, policy risk assessment and business standards.
Role Requirements Procurement Policy Lead
Lead on developing, creating and communication of procurement policies working collaboratively to ensure they are clear, practical and aligned with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Act as a central source of regulatory insight
Provide evidence of the organisation's compliance with Government Buying Standards including sustainability requirements, by coordinating evidence, promoting best practice and embedding standards into procurement activity.
Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and practices identifying opportunities to enhance policy, performance management, and the use of systems and technology.
Work in partnership with the Head of Procurement to deliver continuous improvement
Provide trusted commercial advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders helping to strengthen commercial knowledge and awareness
Lead and contribute to a portfolio of procurement-related projects such as business standards, risk management and audit activity, working collaboratively to delivery high-quality outcomes.
Develop and implement performance measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of procurement and contract management activity and support informed decision-making
Identify and assess the impacts of changes in procurement legislation, ensuring policies are updated in a timely manner and comply with all legal and reporting requirements
Deliver clear, effective education and communication to raise awareness and understanding of procurement policies and processes among internal customers
Experience required of the Procurement Policy Lead
CIPS or equivalent experience
Knowledge of procurement policy and UK Public Procurement procedures
Extensive corporate policy experience involving senior stakeholder engagement
Experience and ability to interpret and provide advice on procurement legislation
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff at all grades.
Strong project management and organisational skills

Base Salary of £46,224 - £47,813
Location Allowance of £1750
