We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to oversee our transport and fleet activities, ensuring vehicles, plant and drivers operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with industry regulations.
As a Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of the company's transport operations, ensuring the fleet remains compliant, cost-effective and operationally efficient. You will oversee vehicle maintenance, driver management, regulatory compliance and fleet performance, while supporting operational teams to meet business and project requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders, drivers and external suppliers, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and service delivery across the transport function.

What We're Looking For
Proven experience in fleet and transport management, including HGVs, commercial vehicles and plant equipment
Strong knowledge of transport legislation, drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and fleet compliance requirements
Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills
Ability to analyse fleet performance and implement operational improvements
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
Experience working within the utilities, construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors is desirableQualifications Required:
Valid Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
Full UK Driving Licence
Competence in the use of fleet management systems, vehicle tracking software and Microsoft Office applications
Strong working knowledge of DVSA regulations, transport compliance and health and safety requirementsDesirable Qualifications:
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification
FORS Practitioner qualification or experience managing FORS accreditation
NVQ Level 3 or above in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Management or a related discipline
Relevant plant or fleet-related qualificationsPlease note: This role requires presence at both Lea Bridge Road and Apsley with travel to site as required
