The Opportunity

An established main contractor is seeking an experienced Externals Site Manager to join the team on a prestigious residential development in Marylebone.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the project's external package, with responsibility for managing substructure works, groundworks, drainage, hard and soft landscaping, and external infrastructure through to completion. Working alongside the Project Manager and wider site team, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality scheme safely, on programme, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all external works from substructure through to final external finishes.
Oversee groundworks, foundations, drainage, retaining structures, utilities, hard landscaping, and external infrastructure packages.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with programme.
Monitor progress against the construction programme and proactively resolve any issues affecting delivery.
Ensure all works are completed to the required quality standards and specification.
Enforce health and safety procedures and ensure full compliance with current legislation and company policies.
Coordinate material deliveries, plant, temporary works, and site logistics relating to the external package.
Carry out quality inspections, snagging, and handover of external works.
Work closely with the Project Manager, Engineers, Commercial Team, and Design Team to ensure smooth project delivery.
Maintain accurate site records, RAMS, permits, and progress reports.
Experience

Previous experience as a Site Manager or Externals Site Manager working for a main contractor.
Strong background delivering substructure, groundworks, drainage, and external works packages on residential developments.
Experience managing specialist groundwork and civil engineering subcontractors.
Good understanding of temporary works, excavation, drainage, reinforced concrete, and external infrastructure.
Proven ability to deliver packages safely, on programme, and within budget.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Experience working on high-value residential or mixed-use developments is highly desirable.
Qualifications

Essential:

SMSTS
CSCS Card
First Aid at Work
Desirable:

HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor.
