Supplier Quality Engineer
Hybrid - Remote (Darlington area preferred)
Salary - Up to £30 per hour DOE
Contract until 31st December 2026
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a high‑performing Supplier Quality team supporting European programmes. This is a predominantly remote role with occasional visits to the Darlington site and supplier locations across the UK and mainland Europe.

Key Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Support supplier selection and cross-functional decisions
* Ensure manufacturing processes meet engineering and customer standards
* Apply APQP, PPAP and quality tools to achieve zero-defect outcomes
* Conduct supplier audits and drive continuous improvement
* Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes
* Support supplier performance improvement initiatives
Specific Responsibilities
* Support European programme activities and Global 7 processes
* Monitor CQMS reports and manage source releases
* Lead resolution of build quality issues onsite when required
* Deliver APQP project support and supplier reviews
* Maintain and report APQP metrics
* Lead FIRG activities and quality investigations
* Manage medium-ZDM components with SQE teams
Requirements
* Proven Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering experience
* Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Lean or Six Sigma
* Experience working with external suppliers and cross-functional teams
* Ability to travel within the UK and Europe
