Site Manager – Mechanical/Fire Sprinkler Projects
Location: Midlands/Manchester (Ideally based to travel across the UK)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 12 Months
Hours: 40 per week
Rate: £400 per day
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee mechanical installation projects across the UK, with a strong preference for candidates who have a background in commercial fire sprinkler systems.
This role would suit someone based in the Midlands or Manchester, providing easy access to projects across both the North and South of England. Current and upcoming sites include Lancaster, Leicester, and the South Coast.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage mechanical installation works from site mobilisation through to completion.
* Lead and coordinate large site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
* Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
* Monitor and maintain QA procedures and Health & Safety compliance.
* Read, interpret and mark up mechanical and pipework drawings/schematics.
* Liaise effectively with clients, main contractors and project stakeholders.
* Maintain accurate site records and reporting using Microsoft Office applications.
Ideal Candidate
We're particularly interested in candidates with a commercial fire sprinkler installation background, as this provides an excellent foundation for the multidisciplinary mechanical systems delivered on our projects.
You will also have:
* Proven experience managing mechanical projects on behalf of, or alongside, established main contractors.
* A successful track record of leading large site teams.
* Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical services, with fire sprinklers highly desirable.
* Good understanding of QA processes and Health & Safety legislation.
* Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience reading and marking up technical pipework schematics.
* Previous experience working on MOJ or MOD projects is advantageous.
Essential Qualifications
* CSCS Black Card (NVQ Level 6)
* SMSTS
* Valid UK Driving Licence
* Own vehicle (travel and mileage expenses paid)
Desirable
* First Aid at Work
* IOSH qualification
* Current BPSS clearance or eligibility to obtain BPSS clearance
