The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting production through process improvement, introducing new manufacturing methods and driving continuous improvement activities across the site.
Working closely with production, quality and maintenance teams, you will ensure manufacturing processes are efficient, safe and capable of delivering high-quality products while supporting operational performance and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including process instructions, PFMEAs and Control Plans while supporting the introduction of new products, equipment and manufacturing processes.
* Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost through Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and structured problem-solving techniques.
* Analyse production performance, manufacturing data and operational KPIs to resolve process issues, improve efficiency and support business improvement projects.
* Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to introduce process improvements, develop tooling and fixtures, and support equipment reliability and capital investment activities.
About You
You will have previous experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment together with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies. You should be confident using Lean tools, root cause analysis and performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
Experience with process documentation, FMEA, Control Plans, project management and manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, cycle time and downtime is essential. Six Sigma training or experience with Kaizen, A3 or Poka Yoke would be advantageous.
Qualifications
A relevant Engineering qualification such as Degree, HNC/HND, ONC, BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent industry experience will be considered.
