Join Our Team as an Apprentice Service Delivery Driver (Category C)
Locations: Doncaster, Widnes, and Dagenham
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

ReFood is offering an exciting opportunity to join us as an Apprentice Service Delivery Driver. This structured 12-month apprenticeship is designed to provide hands-on experience, valuable industry insight, and formal driver training—setting you up for long-term success in the logistics sector.
What You’ll Be Doing
During your apprenticeship, you will rotate through key departments to gain a 360-degree view of our operations. Your development journey will include:
Gaining exposure to Transport, Customer Service, and Operations during your first 6 months.
Attending regular training sessions covering professional driving standards, vehicle safety, fuel efficiency, incident management, safe loading, and customer service.
Spending 1 week per month shadowing an experienced driver to build practical knowledge.
Beginning Category C driver training and DVSA testing at the 6-month mark.
Driving under supervision as a Trainee Driver from months 7–12, applying safe and compliant practices.
Participating in ongoing mentoring, development reviews, and assessments throughout your apprenticeship.
Handling the collection and exchange of 240-litre wheelie bins containing food and catering waste, including loading and unloading at customer sites.
Performing daily vehicle checks, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
Accurately completing all required documentation and using PDAs for route logging and service tracking.
Acting as a professional ambassador for ReFood, ensuring excellent service to our clients.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
A full, clean Category B (car) driving licence
Functional Skills in English and Maths (minimum Entry Level 3.5)
A good understanding or awareness of road safety and regulations
Willingness to learn and develop knowledge in professional driving, vehicle operation, and logistics
A responsible attitude towards accurate documentation and compliance
A smart, professional appearance (uniform provided) and strong interpersonal skills
The ability to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Commitment to working 40 hours per week in accordance with EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive
