Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced Shift Leader to oversee our clients CNC machine shop operations, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and meets quality standards. You’ll lead a team, drive performance, and support continuous improvement.
Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager Shift: Triple (Nights, Lates & Earlies)
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead daily shift operations to meet production and quality targets
* Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance
* Manage and support Team Leaders, including labour allocation and performance
* Conduct shift briefings and maintain a visible shop floor presence
* Oversee workflow, job prioritisation, and machine utilisation
* Support training, development, and performance reviews
* Resolve production issues and escalate maintenance concerns
* Drive continuous improvement and reduce downtime (OEE)
* Ensure accurate job bookings and production records
* Maintain high housekeeping and audit standards
Skills & Experience:
* CNC machining background (essential)
* Experience in a leadership or supervisory role
* Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
* Good communication and team leadership ability
* Computer literate
Personal Attributes:
* Proactive and hands-on approach
