Location: Chelmsford Compressor Station (travel across the East region required)
Salary: up to £52,519 base DOE + up to 6% bonus + company vehicle + 10-15% additional earnings through overtime and standby

About the role
We're seeking an Electrical Operations Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of National Gas operational assets across the East region.
Based near Chelmsford Compressor Station, you'll travel regularly to compressor stations, AGIs and pipeline installations throughout Essex and the Thames Estuary, carrying out planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and emergency response activities.
Working alongside mechanical and instrumentation colleagues, you'll ensure electrical systems remain safe, compliant and available.

What you'll be doing
Maintain and inspect electrical systems across operational gas assets.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime.
Carry out testing, inspection and commissioning activities.
Support maintenance of motors, control systems, switchgear and associated equipment.
Issue permits and manage electrical isolations.
Maintain maintenance records and compliance documentation.
Oversee contractor activities.
Participate in the standby rota after training,typically one week in every four or five
What you'll bring
Proven electrical maintenance experience in industrial or process environments.
Experience fault finding on industrial electrical systems.
Good understanding of electrical safe systems of work and isolations.
Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent with a Level 3 qualification.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Inspection & Testing qualification.
CompEx 01-04
Experience working within hazardous areas.
Knowledge of industrial control systems and gas transmission assets.
Full UK driving licence.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
