TEKsystems Global Services is supporting a major financial services client on one of the largest transformation programmes within its Corporate & Institutional Banking division. This is a long-term strategic initiative focused on redesigning the way complex corporate customers are onboarded, with the goal of creating a faster, simpler and more scalable onboarding journey.
The programme is backed by significant investment and is expected to run for multiple years, offering strong long-term visibility and the opportunity to join at an early stage. The work will involve target-state design, process improvement, technology change, automation, AI-enabled capabilities and future delivery planning.
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to support the Complex Customer Onboarding workstream. This role is best suited to someone with strong product ownership experience, proven customer onboarding experience, and the ability to operate in an early-stage transformation environment where requirements, processes and solutions are still being shaped.
Location & Working PatternHybrid working model
1-2 days per week onsite
Office location can be London, Manchester, Birmingham or Edinburgh
Immediate start
Initial contract with strong potential to extend due to the long-term nature of the programme
Key RequirementsApplicants must have:
5+ years' experience as a Product Owner
Direct customer onboarding, client onboarding, account opening, KYC, AML, CDD or client life cycle management experience
experience working within financial services, banking or another regulated environment
Strong experience working across business and technology teams
experience shaping requirements, design outputs, backlog items and delivery-ready work packages
Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation and documentation skills
experience using tools such as Jira to manage requirements, work activities or backlog items

Role OverviewThis is a hands-on Product Owner role supporting a major customer onboarding transformation programme. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, architecture, risk, policy, operations and delivery teams to help shape the future onboarding journey for complex corporate customers.
The role is not purely focused on sprint-by-sprint software delivery. The immediate focus is on helping define the target-state journey, identifying gaps in current processes, supporting stakeholder alignment, and producing clear artefacts that can be taken forward into delivery.
As the programme progresses, the role is expected to evolve into a more traditional Product Owner position, with greater focus on backlog refinement, delivery execution, component ownership and continuous improvement of onboarding capabilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Product Lead in shaping the future customer onboarding journey
Help define target-state onboarding processes and operating models
Identify gaps between current-state and future-state onboarding journeys
Translate complex business problems into clear requirements and actionable outputs
Create design artefacts, documentation, backlog items and delivery-ready work packages
Facilitate workshops with business, technology, risk, policy and operations stakeholders
Drive stakeholder alignment and support decision-making across multiple teams
Support policy, control and process alignment across different business areas
Work with architecture and technology teams to assess platform options and dependencies
Support vendor and technology assessment workshops where required
Help define reusable onboarding components across customer types, markets and business areas
Ensure onboarding design considers customer experience, colleague experience, operational risk and regulatory requirements
Use Jira or similar tools to manage work activities, requirements and backlog items

They will be confident working with senior stakeholders, shaping requirements, running workshops, identifying gaps, and producing clear outputs that support future delivery.
This role will suit someone who can add value before a fully developed engineering backlog is in place. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in ambiguity, bringing structure to complex problems, and translating business, technology, risk and policy considerations into clear work packages.
