Junior Quantity Surveyor – Build Your Career in Civil Engineering
Looking for your first step into Quantity Surveying, or already started your QS journey and want real project exposure?
We're working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and groundworks projects across the UK. They're looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor who wants more than just a desk job, someone keen to get involved on live projects, learn from experienced commercial professionals, and develop into a fully-fledged Quantity Surveyor.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate, placement student, HNC/HND holder or someone with early commercial experience in construction who's looking for genuine progression and long-term career development.
What you'll be doing
Assisting with project valuations, cost reporting and financial management
Supporting subcontractor procurement and account management
Monitoring project costs and tracking variations
Helping prepare applications for payment and final accounts
Working closely with site teams, engineers and project managers
Learning the commercial and contractual side of major civil engineering projects
Contributing to monthly cost reports and commercial reviewsWhat we're looking for
Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Commercial Management or similar (or currently studying towards one)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to work well within a team environment
Construction, civils or placement experience would be advantageous but isn't essential
Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts would be beneficialWhy apply?
