Location: SK1 3XE - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote
The role:
To provide specialist planning policy advice and support the delivery of Stockport Council’s statutory planning functions, including preparation and monitoring of the Local Plan and associated policy documents. The candidate should have extensive experience of preparing infrastructure Delivery Plans (IDPs). The role will ensure compliance with national and local planning legislation and contribute to strategic planning objectives.
Essential Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 4-6 years in planning policy within a local authority or consultancy environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policy frameworks, and Local Plan processes.
Skills:
Ability to analyse complex planning issues and provide clear, evidence-based advice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
