Learning Manager - Join a Supportive Secondary School in Richmond

Empowering Learning are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Richmond to recruit a dedicated and motivated Learning Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. The role would suit experienced Learning Managers, Behaviour Mentors, Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Youth Workers, or individuals with experience supporting young people in education or pastoral settings.

About the Role

As a Learning Manager, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and pastorally. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and families, you will help create a positive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to succeed.

You'll work with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing guidance, mentoring, and intervention to improve attendance, behaviour, engagement, and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and achievement.

Provide pastoral and academic support to individuals and small groups.

Support students who require additional guidance with behaviour, attendance, or emotional wellbeing.

Work alongside teachers to remove barriers to learning.

Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's policies.

Monitor student progress and contribute to intervention plans.

Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate.

Support students during lessons, breaktimes, and other school activities.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reviews.

Act as a positive role model, encouraging resilience, confidence, and independence.

Has experience working with young people in an education, youth work, mentoring, or pastoral setting.

Builds positive and professional relationships with students.

Is patient, approachable, and resilient.

Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

Can work confidently as part of a wider school team.

Is passionate about improving outcomes for young people.

Has a proactive and solution-focused approach.
