Hourly Rate - Circa £40p/hour (Outside IR35)
Electrical Engineer Overview
My client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide engineering support on single point mooring projects for FPSO and FSO facilities within a specialist engineering consultancy. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of complex offshore projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and clients to ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered in line with industry standards and project requirements.
The Electrical Engineer role will involve:
Providing electrical engineering support on single point mooring projects for FPSO and FSO facilities
Preparing and reviewing Ex equipment datasheets
Developing and maintaining electrical load lists, cable sizing calculations, and voltage drop calculations
Preparing and reviewing specifications for electrical equipment and switchboards
Reviewing vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications
Liaising with vendors and supporting technical queries throughout project delivery
Coordinating with site teams and providing engineering support during project execution
Ensuring engineering documentation complies with relevant industry standards and project requirements
The Electrical Engineer will need to have the following attributes:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
A minimum of 5 years' experience within the oil & gas, petrochemical industries
Good knowledge of hazardous area equipment and IEC 60079 standards
Experience preparing and reviewing electrical engineering documentation and calculations
An understanding of industrial communication networks
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
The ability to work effectively with vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams
Desirable:
Instrumentation experience
LV switchboard package experience
Experience working on FPSO or FSO projects
Experience with single point mooring systems
Classification society experience
