About the Role

We are seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming secondary school on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting students' learning while taking on additional classroom responsibilities.

As a HLTA, you will work closely with teachers to support students across a range of subjects, deliver planned lessons in the teacher's absence, and provide targeted intervention for individuals and small groups. Your contribution will play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to improve progress and attainment
Work alongside teaching staff to plan and deliver effective learning activities
Support students with a range of learning needs, adapting resources where appropriate
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Help maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
Promote positive behaviour and support the school's behaviour policy

Requirements

HLTA status or relevant experience working in a similar role within a secondary school
Experience supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4
Confidence leading whole-class learning when required
Strong communication and organisational skills
A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students and staff
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
