An exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join a global leader in advanced materials and high-performance engineered components. With over 15 manufacturing sites worldwide and annual revenues exceeding £400 million, the business supplies precision-engineered products into the aerospace, defence, semiconductor, energy and industrial sectors
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing production operations within a high-precision machining environment. You'll lead skilled manufacturing teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimise machining processes, and ensure the delivery of complex projects
Production Manager Responsibilities:
Lead and manage day-to-day workshop and production operations within a precision machining environment
Drive production performance, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are consistently achieved
Oversee CNC machining operations including milling, turning and multi-axis machining
Support new product introduction and process development from concept through to production
Develop machining strategies, tooling selection and fixture design to improve productivity and efficiency
Lead Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the production department
Manage production planning, resource allocation and operational performance
Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Supply Chain to deliver business objectives
Lead, coach and develop production teams, creating a positive and high-performing cultureProduction Manager Experience:
Previous experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Workshop Manager role within precision engineering
Strong background in CNC machining with hands-on knowledge of milling, turning and multi-axis machining
Excellent understanding of tooling, fixture design, machining strategies and process optimisation
Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) and production process development
Proven people management experience with the ability to motivate, develop and lead high-performing teams
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
