Site Engineer - Devonport Dockyard
Location: Southwest England (Site-Based)
Start: ASAP
Contract: Initial 6 months
Rate: £450 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
We're looking for a Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Dockyard. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK's most complex engineering programmes, supporting the safe and successful delivery of site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day site engineering activities.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and project standards.
Coordinate subcontractors and site teams.
Review drawings and raise technical queries where required.
Maintain site records, daily diaries, and progress documentation.
Support planning, scheduling, inspections, and handover activities.
Requirements
Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
Previous site engineering experience within construction or infrastructure.
CSCS card and SMSTS or IOSH certification.
Strong knowledge of health & safety and site documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience in regulated environments (e.g. nuclear or defence).
Knowledge of BIM, CAD, P6, Aphex, or NEC contracts.
Additional site qualifications such as Temporary Works or Lifting Operations
