We are seeking an experienced SME Account Handler to join a well-established and growing insurance brokerage. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with commercial insurance experience who enjoys managing client relationships, handling a varied portfolio of SME business, and delivering exceptional service.
Working within a specialist SME team, you will support clients across a broad range of package and commercial combined insurance products, ensuring policies are administered accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards of client care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Relationship Management
* Build and maintain strong relationships with SME clients.
* Respond to client enquiries promptly and professionally.
* Understand clients' insurance requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
* Support client retention through excellent service delivery.
* Assist with policy renewals, adjustments, and ongoing servicing requirements.
Policy Administration
* Process new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
* Prepare and issue accurate policy documentation.
* Maintain accurate and compliant client records.
* Ensure all administration is completed within agreed service standards.
Insurer Management
* Obtain quotations and terms from insurers through e-trade platforms and delegated authority schemes.
* Liaise with insurers regarding policy queries and placement of risks.
* Escalate complex or non-standard risks where appropriate.
* Ensure efficient placement of business while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
* Previous experience within an SME or Commercial Account Handling role.
* Good understanding of SME insurance products, including package and commercial combined policies.
* Experience using insurer e-trade platforms.
* Strong knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
