Location: Sellafield, Cumbria
Pay: Up to £55 per hour (Inside IR35)
Contract: Full-time, site-based (4 on 4 off rotation or standard site hours)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until April 2027
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer (EC&I) to join the team at Sellafield. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient commissioning of control, instrumentation, and electrical systems within one of the UK's most complex and highly regulated industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Witness and verify vendor testing at works test stage
Prepare plant commissioning test specifications.
Conduct early inspections of site installations to support timely system handovers.
Execute testing activities during the Integrated Plant Commissioning phase.
Identify faults, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate commissioning technicians and support resources.
Initiate and manage Field Observation Books (FOBs).
Validate working-level instructions and ensure accurate application and removal of temporary commissioning aids.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in nuclear EC&I systems commissioning.
Background in highly regulated industries - nuclear experience essential, Sellafield experience preferable.
Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent).
Competent in Microsoft Office and Excel-based calculations.
Familiarity with project management principles (APM membership desirable).
IOSH Working or Managing Safely, SMSTS or SSSTS, and valid ECS Supervisory Card required.
Must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance.
