Acoustics Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Acoustics Engineer with a focus on building acoustics to join our client's dynamic team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to advance their career by taking on greater responsibility in project delivery, client engagement, and design leadership.

You will be part of an award-winning, collaborative team working on a diverse range of projects, including healthcare facilities, hotels, music venues, modern workplaces, and other complex, design-led environments.

Responsibilities

As an Acoustics Engineeryour key responsibilities will include:

Collaborating within multi-disciplinary project teams to develop innovative and effective design solutions.
Leading small to medium-sized projects from inception to completion, with support from senior colleagues as required.
Conducting acoustic surveys and measurements in various environments using advanced tools and techniques.
Performing modelling, calculations, and analysis using both in-house and commercial software to inform design decisions.
Liaising with clients, consultants, and project teams, contributing confidently to discussions and design development.
Producing clear, practical advice through written reports, sketches, presentations, audio demonstrations, and interactive media.
Contributing to a culture of creativity and innovation, enhancing acoustic quality across projects.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

A strong foundation in acoustic engineering, with proven experience in delivering building acoustic projects across various design stages.
A bachelor's or master's degree in Acoustic Engineering or a related discipline. Alternatively, a degree in another field complemented by an IOA Diploma will be considered.
Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive, positive, and flexible approach to work.
A genuine interest in delivering high-quality design solutions.

Day-to-Day

Your daily activities will include:

Engaging with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and refine acoustic designs.
Managing project timelines and deliverables for small to medium-sized projects.
Conducting on-site acoustic measurements and surveys.
Using advanced software tools to perform acoustic modelling and analysis.
Preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Interacting with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
Contributing to team discussions and brainstorming sessions to foster innovation.
