Multiskilled Engineer (Panama Days)
Location: Lincolnshire
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Panama Days (12-hour shifts)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About the Role
An established and highly successful fresh produce manufacturer is seeking a Multiskilled Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced production environment where engineering plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production and packaging equipment.
Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and production issues.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment performance and minimise downtime.
Support continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and modification work.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS systems where required.
Liaise with contractors and external suppliers when necessary.
Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
What We're Looking For
Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Multi-Skilled, HNC, Apprenticeship, or equivalent).
Previous experience within food manufacturing, fresh produce, FMCG, packaging, or a fast-paced production environment.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Experience with preventative maintenance systems.
Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and reliability engineering.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible attitude with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
