Java Full Stack Engineer - Consultant

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 plus benefits, perks, and healthcare options!

Job type: Permanent | Hybrid (1-2 days per week) | Occasional travel to client sites

Security Clearance: Must be SC eligible

Base locations: London, Manchester or Glasgow

Overview:

We're looking for a Java Full Stack Engineer with strong backend and frontend development experience to join a team delivering innovative digital solutions for enterprise clients.

You'll work on digital transformation programmes, designing and delivering modern cloud-native applications that solve real business challenges. Working alongside architects, engineers and stakeholders, you'll help build scalable, secure and high-performing solutions using modern technologies and engineering practices.

Your Role:

Design, develop and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Build responsive web applications using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
Develop and integrate REST APIs and cloud-native applications.
Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support.
Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and secure digital platforms.
Continue developing your technical skills through innovative client projects and emerging technologies.

Skills & Experience:

Strong experience building RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Frontend development experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.
Proficiency with Git and platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
Experience working with AWS or Azure.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Experience working in Agile software development teams.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB.
Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
