Factory Operative

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer based in Shefford, is seeking a motivated and hands-on individual to join their busy production team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a stable career in manufacturing. Whether you already have experience in a workshop environment or are looking to transition into a practical, hands-on role, our client offers a supportive environment where full comprehensive training is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manufacture and assemble high-quality components and products to company standards.

* Safely operate a variety of workshop machinery, hand tools, and power tools.

* Assist with metal fabrication, woodworking, and surface preparation (sanding and finishing).

* Support wood spraying and powder coating operations and perform basic MIG welding where authorised.

* Inspect finished items for quality, then pack and prepare them for shipping.

* Maintain a clean, organised workspace, follow all Health & Safety rules, and collaborate to hit daily production targets.

The successful candidate will have:

* Previous experience working in a Warehouse Environment.

* Good manual skills and the physical fitness required for manual.

* A reliable, punctual approach with a genuine eagerness to learn new skills.

* High work standards and a strong commitment to quality.

* The ability to work well independently as well as part of a production team.

Desirable Experience (Not Essential):

* Woodworking, carpentry, or furniture assembly.

* Metal fabrication or basic MIG welding.

* Industrial finishing, wood spraying, or powder coating.

* Safe use of hand tools and power tools.

* Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Please Note: Full training will be provided for candidates who have the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
