Senior Quantity Surveyor

£70,000-£75,000 & Package

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to work on complex refurbishment scheme in Plymouth?

Reporting into the Commercial Director, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of this large scheme, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, commercially and in line with contractual requirements.

You'll work closely with technical teams, project managers, consultants and the supply chain, overseeing projects from early cost planning through to final account.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare accurate cost estimates based on consultant reports and technical information

* Develop detailed project cost plans as designs progress

* Produce quantities from drawings and technical documentation

* Support the preparation of Contractor Proposals and commercial submissions

* Procure consultants and subcontractors in accordance with company procedures

* Manage consultant and subcontractor accounts throughout the project lifecycle

* Prepare and submit applications for payment in accordance with contract requirements

* Produce accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts and financial updates

* Maintain comprehensive commercial records to support contractual recovery where required

* Administer subcontractor payment applications and valuations

* Support project mitigation and commercial recovery strategies

* Attend client, consultant and project meetings

* Review third-party claims and assist with detailed commercial assessments

* Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team where appropriate

About You:

* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a Tier 1 or large regional contractor.

* Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills.

* Experience preparing cost reports, forecasts and valuations.

* Ability to interpret drawings and prepare accurate quantities.

* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

* Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial processes

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
