Start Date: September 2026
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive primary school team on a fixed-term contract from September 2026 until December 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils during a key stage of their primary education as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Year 6 teaching team to support learning, raise attainment and help pupils achieve their full potential.
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience of working with primary-aged children, ideally within Upper Key Stage 2.
Is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
Can work effectively with individuals, small groups and whole classes.
Has strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Is able to support pupils in preparation for end-of-Key Stage 2 assessments.
Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is organised, proactive and able to work as part of a team.
Has high expectations of pupil achievement, behaviour and wellbeing.The role will include:
Supporting teaching and learning within the Year 6 classroom.
Delivering targeted interventions and small-group support.
Assisting pupils with literacy, numeracy and curriculum learning.
Supporting pupils' confidence, independence and engagement.
Preparing learning resources and classroom materials.
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to support pupil progress.
Contributing positively to the wider life of the school.We can offer:
