Our client has an opportunity for a Command & Control Sub-System Engineering Lead to join them on a contract basis for 6 months.
This role is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting project, maturing the design of a key subsystem on a high-profile project.

Role: Command & Control Sub-System Engineering Lead
Location: Bristol, 3-4 days onsite
Contract: 6 months
Hours: 37 per week
Hourly Rate: Up to £70 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
Clearance: Full SC to start. UK Eyes Only due to project

What you'll be doing:

Provide day-to-day management, direction and technical leadership (including activity tracking and project reporting) of the multi-functional Common Architecture Team (CAT).
Lead the capture, derivation, and refinement of subsystem requirements for the Command & Control subsystem.
Work collaboratively with the CAT to deliver the Command & Control sub-system functional architecture.
Identify and capture functional risks, opportunities, issues and assumptions and their associated mitigation strategies.Requirements:

Product development / systems thinking mindset.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Experience across the systems engineering / product development lifecycle, with an emphasis on successful project delivery.
Experience of functional design and development.
Proactive and self-managing, with an ability to work under pressure to deliver successful outcomes on demanding timescales.
Practical knowledge and experience of system engineering processes and tools (e.g. IBM Rhapsody, IBM DOORS, IBM Engineering Workflow Management).
Experience designing complex systems in a defence or other highly regulated environment
Experience working in or leading a cross-functional engineering teams.
