The Job Role Position:
Due to continued growth and sustained customer demand, the company is looking to recruit an experienced Laser Programmer to join its Fabrications Department.
Working with industry-leading Trumpf CNC laser and punch machines, you'll play a key role in supporting production by developing efficient offline programs, optimising nests, reducing waste and continually improving manufacturing performance.
This is more than simply programming machines—you'll work closely with engineering and production teams to help drive efficiency, improve throughput and support a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
* Create and optimise offline programs using TruTops software for Trumpf CNC punch and laser machines.
* Produce efficient nests to maximise sheet utilisation and minimise material waste.
* Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
* Programme components manufactured from mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
* Support production by ensuring all programs are accurate, efficient and production-ready.
* Collaborate with engineering, production and quality teams to resolve programming and manufacturing challenges.
* Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, material utilisation and machine efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with quality standards and business management systems.
* Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and actively contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Candidate:
* Previous experience as a Laser Programmer, CNC Programmer or similar manufacturing programming role.
* Strong working knowledge of TruTops offline programming software.
* Experience programming Trumpf laser and punch machinery is highly desirable.
* Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques.
* Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
* Experience producing efficient nests and optimising material utilisation.
* Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
* High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Comfortable working collaboratively across engineering and manufacturing teams.
