We are thrilled to be working closely with our client, an international manufacturing business, for a new Production Team Leader. We are looking for an experienced manufacturing professional with a strong engineering and production background.

Reporting to the Production Manager your role will be:

* Ensure achievement of production plan schedules in accordance with the objectives of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale (SQDCM), whilst ensuring appropriate resource.
* Ensure production targets and quality standards are met and adhered to.
* To ensure production flow is kept constant to avoid bottlenecks and gaps through active team involvement.
* Communicate to your team at daily team briefings.
* To lead by example and demonstrate effective and positive leadership skills.
* Pro-active involvement, within the cell promoting a "Can Do" attitude.
* Provide "hands on" approach where needed in daily activity.
* To promote Company processes and procedures ensuring that they are adhered to at team level.
* Ensure team members are responsible and accountable for daily activities.
* Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement to your team daily at the start of each shift.
* Escalate ongoing issues to the production manager.

Your Main Tasks:

* Active leadership and co-ordination of production plan schedules in accordance with the objectives of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale (SQDCM), whilst ensuring appropriate resource.
* Ensure production targets and quality standards are met and adhered to.
* Identify non-compliant situations and behaviours and take action to resolve.
* Escalate any disruptions in production to the relevant support functions.(H&S Manager, Engineering manager, Production Manager) and implement corrective actions to recover any losses.
* Lead and implement lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
* Drive performance to meet KPI's
* Involvement in projects as well as day to day activities to generate & drive continuous improvement.
* Organise and document the training needs of your team and manage flexibility and versatility in accordance with defined targets.
* Input production data into Management Information Systems, (KPI database, reject file, T&A file etc…)

Essential Experiences:
* Prior supervisory experience in a production manufacturing environment.
* Experience with structured SQDCM daily team meetings
* A clear understanding and demonstrable experience of using lean principles (5S, Kaizan, 5Y, DMAIC, etc.) and activities with good problem-solving skills.
* Computer literacy in Word and Excel
* Possess good communication and negotiation skills

Desirable Requirements:
* Experience in injection moulding plastic manufacturing
* Experience in FMCG manufacturing
