The Role
As a Trainee Crewing Support Officer, you'll provide administrative support to the recruitment team while learning all aspects of the recruitment and marine crewing process. With full training provided, you'll gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting candidates and clients via email and telephone
Assisting candidates with updating their online profiles
Maintaining and updating the candidate database
Preparing recruitment documentation and onboarding paperwork
Answering incoming calls professionally and directing enquiries
Advertising vacancies across job boards and social media platforms
Supporting recruitment consultants throughout the placement process
Learning how to screen candidate applications and match skills to vacancies
Requesting and tracking employment references
Assisting with compliance and certification checks
Helping coordinate travel arrangements for successful candidates
Providing administrative support with payroll processes
Acting as a first point of contact for candidate enquiries
Supporting general office administration, including stock control and ordering supplies
Attending team meetings and contributing to continuous improvement
Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies and proceduresAbout You
We're looking for someone who is motivated to learn and build a successful career. Previous experience isn't essential—your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to develop are what matter most.
You'll ideally have:
A degree or equivalent qualification (graduates encouraged to apply)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
A positive, proactive approach to work
Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel
The ability to work well as part of a team while managing your own workload
A professional and confidential approach when handling informationPrevious administration, customer service or recruitment experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
