The Role
Reporting to the Service Director for Planning, Regeneration & Transport, you will:
Provide strategic leadership and management of the Council's high-performing Regeneration Service.
Lead the delivery of complex regeneration programmes and major capital projects.
Develop and implement regeneration strategies, investment plans, and place-based initiatives.
Provide expert strategic advice to senior leadership, elected Members, and key stakeholders.
Build and maintain effective partnerships across the public, private, and voluntary sectors.
Oversee service budgets, ensuring sound financial management and value for money.
Drive continuous service improvement, innovation, and the successful delivery of corporate priorities.
About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Significant senior leadership experience within regeneration, economic development, or a closely related field.
A proven track record of delivering large-scale regeneration programmes and place-shaping initiatives.
A strong understanding of local government, governance, and the political environment.
Experience of developing strategy, leading organisational change, and driving service transformation.
Strong financial management skills, including budget oversight and resource planning.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, partnership-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
A relevant professional qualification or substantial equivalent experience.
