Service Technician
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a leading engineering business in the search for a Service Technician to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong mechanical background to work on highly engineered equipment serving the offshore and subsea sectors. The role offers a mix of workshop-based activities and occasional travel within the UK and overseas, providing exposure to installation, commissioning and service activities on technically complex projects.
The Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, testing, commissioning, installation and repair of specialist engineering equipment. You will work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure high-quality delivery whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble complex mechanical and structural equipment from engineering drawings.
* Carry out testing, inspection and commissioning activities
* Complete project documentation, including inspection records, test reports and job cards
* Support fault-finding and repair activities both in the workshop and at customer sites
* Provide technical support during installation and service projects
* Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across the workshop
* Maintain workshop tools, equipment and housekeeping standards
* Work closely with engineering and construction teams to deliver projects on schedule
What We Are Looking For
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a mechanical fitting, assembly or service technician position within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Level 3 Engineering qualification or HNC Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous.
* Experience working from technical drawings and specifications
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Desirable Skills
* Machining experience including milling and turning
* Experience using electrical hand tools
* Rigging and overhead crane operation
* Knowledge of hydraulic circuits and schematics
* Experience with remotely operated vehicle handling equipment
