Assistant Site Manager job available delivering refurbishment and construction projects across the residential, social housing, and commercial sectors throughout London & the South East, offering the opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of refurbishment and construction projects across residential, social housing, and commercial environments.
Working alongside the Site Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role would suit someone looking to progress their site management career while gaining exposure to a variety of project types.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day delivery of residential, social housing, and commercial projects
Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, materials, and site logistics
Assist in ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards
Carry out site inspections, quality checks, and snagging throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and site documentation
Monitor progress against programme and report any issues or delays to the Site Manager
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, consultants, residents, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication throughout each project
Assist with inductions, toolbox talks, and daily site briefings
Use Field View to record inspections, quality assurance, defects, site progress, and project documentation
Maintain accurate site records, including health & safety documentation and daily reports
Support the successful handover of completed works
Requirements
Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor, Foreperson, or similar role
Experience working on residential, social housing, refurbishment, or commercial construction projects
Previous experience using Field View is essential
Good understanding of construction processes, health & safety legislation, and quality standards
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and manage site activities effectively
Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and progress
Full UK Driving Licence

First Aid at Work
Asbestos Awareness
Manual Handling
NVQ Level 4 or above in Construction Site Management (desirable)
