The Company
A successful, secure and growing manufacturer and engineering business supplying their products to a variety of industries. Their recent successes are allowing them to grow and develop their business. Due to an increased demand and workload, our client needs an experienced Stores Supervisor to oversee the department and ensure productivity.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the Stores function, ensuring work is effectively prioritised and resources are managed to support production requirements. The position focuses on team leadership, workload planning, training, performance management and continuous improvement to maximise efficiency, quality and operational performance. Responsibilities include:
* Manage daily work allocation and prioritisation within Component Stores.
* Support rapid response requirements and minimise disruption to production.
* Ensure accurate labour and material transactions within the ERP system.
* Coordinate training activities and maintain staff competency matrices.
* Provide leadership, coaching and performance management for the team.
* Drive departmental targets, housekeeping standards and best practices.
* Manage overtime and resource capability to meet future workload demands.
* Work closely with Support Engineers and Materials Management to address skills gaps.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
* Promote health & safety, quality standards and compliance with engineered processes.
* Implement changes to work instructions and support operational improvements.
About you:
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and engage with colleagues at all levels.
* Proactive and motivated individual who can work independently and drive improvements.
* Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
* Confident using IT systems, with experience of ERP, MRP or warehouse management systems.
* Strong relationship-building and people skills, with the ability to lead and support others.
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role with a track record of leading teams and delivering results.
Benefits:
* £30,000 - £33,000 per year
* Monday to Friday 8 am – 4.30 pm (flexibility available)
* 39 hours a week
* Free parking on site (BS1)
* 25 days + 8 banks
