We’re supporting a respected civil engineering contractor in the North East who is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of key civils and infrastructure schemes. This role suits a technically strong engineer who can manage setting‑out, maintain quality standards, and work closely with operational teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
*
Setting‑Out & Surveying: Carry out accurate setting‑out using GPS, total stations, and levelling equipment.
*
Technical Assurance: Interpret drawings, specifications, and design information, resolving technical queries.
*
Quality Control: Complete ITPs, check sheets, and ensure works meet required standards.
*
Site Coordination: Work closely with Site Managers, Foremen, and subcontractors to maintain progress.
*
Material & Documentation Management: Record materials, maintain engineering documentation, and support progress reporting.
*
Health & Safety Compliance: Promote safe working practices and ensure engineering activities comply with CDM and company procedures.
What You’ll Bring
*
Experience as a Site Engineer or Junior Engineer within civil engineering.
*
Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities, structures, highways, or public realm.
*
Confident using GPS, robotic total stations, and other surveying equipment.
*
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
*
CSCS essential; engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree) advantageous.
