Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure & Civil Engineering
Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of commercially significant infrastructure projects within a long-term framework environment?
We're supporting the growth of a well-established infrastructure business delivering essential transport and public infrastructure works across the UK. As part of an experienced commercial team, you'll be involved in the full project lifecycle, helping to drive financial performance, manage contractual obligations, and support the successful delivery of complex civil engineering schemes.
This position would particularly suit a QS with experience operating under NEC4 contracts and exposure to bridge, structures, highways, or wider infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for the commercial management of projects and work packages from award through to final account, working alongside operational teams, engineers, planners, and supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
Producing accurate CVRs and financial performance reports.
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
Administering compensation events, change management processes, and contractual notices.
Managing subcontractor procurement, account administration, and payment assessments.
Preparing client applications for payment and supporting cash-flow management.
Maintaining robust commercial records and ensuring contractual compliance.
Supporting the resolution of commercial issues while protecting the company's commercial position.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying role in civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction.
Strong practical knowledge of NEC4 contracts, including compensation events and commercial administration.
Experience working within framework-based environments or major infrastructure programmes.
Ideally, exposure to bridge, structural, highways, rail, or public infrastructure projects.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
Why Join?
Work on long-term secured frameworks rather than one-off projects.
Be part of major infrastructure investment programmes that have a direct impact on communities and transport networks.
Join a collaborative commercial team with a strong reputation for project delivery.
Genuine opportunities for career progression, professional development, and increased responsibility.
Legal Information:
We act as an employment agency for permanent work and as an employment business for temporary work.
For roles in the UK, applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
We value diversity and promote equality. No terminology in this advert is intended to discriminate against any of the protected characteristics that fall under the Equality Act 2010. We encourage and welcome applications from all areas of society and can discuss any reasonable adjustments to support your application
