Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multidisciplinary planning and property consultancy in the appointment of a Senior Town Planner to join its expanding Infrastructure & Energy planning team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced planner with Development Consent Order (DCO) and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) experience to work on some of the UK's most complex and high-profile infrastructure schemes. The consultancy has an established reputation for delivering planning and consenting strategies across major energy, transport, commercial and regeneration projects, acting for a wide range of private and public sector clients.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning and consenting strategies for nationally significant infrastructure projects alongside major developments promoted through the Town and Country Planning Act.
Working within a highly experienced planning team, your responsibilities will include:
Managing complex planning projects from inception through to determination.
Advising clients on Development Consent Order (DCO) and wider infrastructure consenting strategies.
Preparing and reviewing planning reports, Planning Statements and supporting documentation.
Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout the planning process.
Supporting stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.
Assisting with examinations, hearings and negotiations with local authorities and statutory consultees.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships while supporting business development opportunities.The successful candidate will gain exposure to nationally significant energy, infrastructure and regeneration projects, providing excellent long-term career progression within a highly regarded consultancy.
The Ideal Candidate
Applications are welcomed from MRTPI-qualified planners with experience in infrastructure planning gained within either consultancy, the public sector or a developer environment.
You will ideally have:
MRTPI qualification.
Experience working on Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and/or Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).
Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and consenting regimes.
Experience preparing planning applications, Planning Statements and supporting reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
